Your data is yours. Table & Tine is local-first. Your recipes live on your device. We do not sell your personal data.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information (email via Sign in with Apple — Apple handles authentication)
- Recipes, photos, and cookbook content you create
- Dietary preferences and allergen information
- Profile display name (if you publish to Community Table)
Automatically Collected
- Device type and iOS version (for app compatibility)
- App usage analytics (anonymized, aggregated only)
- Crash reports (for stability improvement)
We Do NOT Collect
- Precise location data
- Browsing history outside the app
- Contact lists
- Biometric data
- Health or medical records
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the Table & Tine service
- Sync your recipes across devices via iCloud (Apple handles iCloud encryption)
- Serve recipe suggestions and dietary substitutions
- Maintain community content safety
- Communicate about your account or service changes
3. Data Storage
Local-First
Your recipes are stored primarily on your device. We believe your data is yours.
iCloud Sync (Premium)
If you enable iCloud sync, recipe data is encrypted and stored in your iCloud account. Table & Tine cannot read your iCloud data. Apple's privacy policies apply.
Community Table
Recipes you publish to the Community Table are stored in CloudKit's public database and are visible to other users.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only:
- With Apple (for App Store, Sign in with Apple, iCloud, and in-app purchases — per Apple's privacy policy)
- With CloudKit (for iCloud sync and Community Table features)
- When required by law (court order, subpoena, or legal process)

6. Data Retention
- Personal recipes: Stored on your device until you delete them; synced to iCloud until you disable sync
- Community Table recipes: Visible until you unpublish or delete your account
- Account data: Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
7. Your Rights
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time
- Export all your recipes (Markdown, JSON, or text format)
- Unpublish any Community Table recipe
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Opt out of analytics in Settings
8. Children's Privacy
Table & Tine is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we become aware we have, we will delete it promptly.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures. Recipe data synced via iCloud is encrypted by Apple. Local data is protected by iOS device encryption.
10. International Users
Table & Tine is based in the United States. If you use the app from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be notified via in-app prompt or email.
